Learning Steps Home Daycare and Preschool provides an environment that includes learning activities as well as helping children develop socially, emotionally and cognitively in order to reach their full potential. Your child's day will include curriculum based activities as well as free play.
My name is Lizbeth Palma and I have been working with preschool aged children since 2008. I began with the San Diego Unified School District as a teacher's assistant and soon promoted to a teaching position. My career journey has included multiple Child Development Centers and I have taught children raging in ages 2 to 5. In January, 2013 I began working for the Naval Amphibious Base Child Development Center as a floater working with infants from 6 weeks of age and children up to 5 years of age. Soon after I became a primary teacher for a preschool classroom. In December, 2014 I was promoted to a position of Lead Teacher. This role involved overseeing not only the preschool classrooms, but all other rooms in the center as needed. Part of my responsibilities were to ensure the children's and teachers needs were being met as well as monitoring for policy and procedural compliance. In the summer of 2016 I began to pursue my long time dream of opening my own Daycare/Preschool which lead us to the present day.
I know being away from your little ones for long periods of time can be overwhelming. For this reason we use a program called Brightwheel. This app allows me to send you updates of your child throughout the day, pictures and even messages. There is no extra cost and it's as easy as downloading it on your phone.
